Vista benefits from Patch Tuesday

In it’s first Patch Tuesday since February, Microsoft have fixed 1 critical bug in Windows Vista, as well as re-releasing the Animated Cursor fix from April 3rd.
The fix for Vista relates to another Remote Code Execution vulnerability, this time in CSRSS - a low level messaging function in Vista.

Vista Security Update (KB925902)

A few days ago, Microsoft released a security update for various versions of Windows, including Vista.
According to the Risk Analysis Matrix for this update, there is 1 Critical and 2 Important updates for Vista. The critical one fixes a vulnerability in Windows Animated Cursors, allowing them to be used to execute remote code, which could (and is) being exploited to gain access to PCs.

If you’re running any version of Windows (including Vista) make sure you run Windows Update and get this patch installed, pronto!
