Tuesday Tweak - Password Free Logon
22 January 2008 in Help & Tips & Tuesday Tweaks | Comments enabled

If you’re the only user of your PC, having to enter your password each time you logon can be a bit of a pain. The good news is this can be fixed!

  • Click the “Start” logo button
  • In the “Start Search” box, type “control userpasswords2” (without the quotes) and press Enter
  • Clear the “User must enter a user name…” check box
  • Click the “OK” button

Your system should now boot straight to your Windows Desktop.

Note - using this tweak makes your PC slightly less secure, so be warned!
